When we founded Assetz several years ago, it was to create a one-stop-shop for all of your property investment needs - whether it was pure investment property or holiday-homes with investment potential. we have evolved into offering complementary financial services and have also launched our Fund Management division to provide managed investment solutions for those looking for hands-off solutions.

I believe that property should be treated as a long term investment in order to reduce risks and maximise gains. In addition, make sure you buy property with your head and not just your heart, make sure the investment is cash-flow positive quickly and make sure there is plenty of upside in the capital value in years to come - in essence start with the end in mind.

I have built my personal portfolio to be a property based pension, that is to say I am concerned with how much income a given investment will generate in say ten or twenty years once the mortgages are paid off and how that income compares to the capital invested at the beginning. Thinking this way, and diversifying my investments over buy-to-let, student, commercial and overseas property, has helped me grow a substantial portfolio with strong rental income to enjoy in the future.
